Who We Are

Makueni Development Trust (MADET) is a community-owned and locally led umbrella Local Development Organization (LDO) based in Makueni County, Kenya.

The organization serves as a coordinating platform that brings together civil society organizations, community groups, and development partners to advance inclusive and sustainable development within the county.

Established in 2021 through collective efforts of local leaders, civil society actors, and development partners, MADET was created to strengthen grassroots participation, promote community-led solutions, and ensure that citizens have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their lives.

As a community-driven platform, MADET works to deepen citizen engagement, mobilize collaborative action, and support development initiatives that enhance resilience, livelihoods, and governance outcomes for communities across Makueni County.
